My name is Tatyana Petrovckaya and I was born in Match 1984. My native city is Kharkov, Ukraine. My scenic name is Butterfly. I’m amatory in everything that is connected with art and creativity, without any special education.
When I was at the age of 5 I was acquainted with art for the first time. I went to the club for the children engaged in drawing, where I learned that paints can be mixed together and that I can draw with it! I was amazed with it. I learned nothing more there. The teacher told to my grandmother that I was incompetent, and she stopped to take me to the club. I am grateful that she told me about this not so far ago. But I did not abandon drawing, I started to paint at home by myself.
Also in my childhood I really liked to make drafts. I took a piece of paper with cells and I designed apartments by my own while drawing a lot of rooms for my family and me. I did not know that this turns out to be called design and architecture.
I studied in a regular educational school from 1 to 3 grade. From the second class I accidentally got into the macrame club, where I got acquainted with this wonderful way of self-expression, and in the third grade I was acquainted with the creation of artificial flowers based on fabric and wire. And to the end of my school education I often made various artificial flowers.
My summer from each year i spent in a village with grandfathers and grandmothers where my parents was grown so part of me is a village girl that is close to the nature. I liked to spent my time with cousins from Russia when they came for a one moth every year through the summer.
With my father’s wish, I started to learn in the 27th Physics and Mathematics Lyceum from the 5 grade. At that time it was the best school in Kharkov and still one of the best school in Ukraine. My mates don’t understand me so the main focus of my life began was studying. I became an excellent student. In the middle of the 8th grade, I was transferred from a regular class to a class of geniuses, and from a best student I instantly turned into nobody, the difference in the supply of material and complexity differed significantly. But here, finally, I found people for myself with whom I was comfortable in my being. And by the end of the school year I regained the status of excellent student. And till the end of the school, my life was just studying. It was a great time for me, because every day I ran to school with a smile on my face. The school was in an hour from my home, and that is why I used to travel from my childhood. 2 hours a day with common transport has become a normal thing for me. There was a lot of tasks and the load with education was enormous. We learned during lessons, at recess, and coming home immediately began to do homework. 4 hours of physics and 4 hours of math per day. And 2-3 hours on Russian and Ukrainian literature. This has become the normal thing for many years. I went to bed at 1-2 nights, I had to keep myself in black-haired mittens in order to do everything in time. Lessons were done in advance, according to the schedule. Many of class mates made a rule for themselves never to write off each other. Tasks were difficult and sometimes we had to call up together and solve home task with families. And sometimes, when we didn’t have time, we simply agreed to separate part of the lessons separately. Then we just exchanged them. And only Saturday I always left for my own creativity and usually drew or played the keyboard. My favorite classes were painting and geometry. Also from the 6th grade I got acquainted with programming and I was placed with “fourth” in a quarter. It was very disappointing for me and this never happened again. The programming became one of the vents for me. I found a creative vein in it for myself, when you can create something new with programming: Games, software, drawings, screensavers. When i was in school I participated a lot of programming and geography competitions. I was one of the few girls who understood programming at the same level with boys and could compete with them, and the competition was huge. Rating learning system. If possible, I tried to get into the top 10 of about 100 students of the stream, which was very difficult because i needed to compete with worldwide champions of math and physics. I did it in order my father not pay for my education because top 10 was free of it. After school I often visited computer science classes, and in my free time I still painted wall newspapers for the school. Also in the 8th grade I began to write my poems.
It was a time of Metallica and Nirvana. And I became a to be an uncommon girl, read Tolkien’s books and dressed with black T-shirts and blue jeans. I spent time with a rock band of my own peers, hanging out at their rehearsals and dreamed of becoming a keyboard player. I started to learn German.
After school I wanted to go art institute to become a painter, but after so many years of serious studying I understood that I could not do that way. Practically all doors of educational universities in Kharkov and beyond were open to our high school students.
In the last grade of school in addition of studying, through my weekends I started to participate courses to enter Kharkov Economic University, where I discovered the world of economics. The teacher adored his subject and I fell in love with this direction and in half of a year I learned the whole economic theory. I entered the university by my own and finished my school with a silver medal.
After leaving school I had a lot of free time. I spent a lot of my time in the company of Tolkien and informal people. I took part in role-playing games going to the nature. I collected money and bought my first favorite guitar. A “Pack of Cigarettes” of Coi and “Nothing Else Matter” of Metallica became the first songs that started to learn with a guitar. I started playing bard songs and writing my own songs.
For the first year of the University I felt a huge difference in people’s knowledge. I could not find a place for myself. People just did not want to develop and this was very unexpected for me. There was a lot of free time and I went to the guitar club, and also started the stump in the choir and folklore ensemble, where I spent a couple of years. After graduating the school my studying was very easy. Many teachers adored me and made me the head of the group.
In the second year of the institute I discovered
system programming for myself and thought that I would become a system developer. I went to Upper Business English courses. I was the worst in the group and it was very uncomfortable for me, but by the end of the courses I knew English at the level of the best students. I learned up to 450 English words per day and in two weeks my teacher was amazed with my success. From that time i did my first moto “Life is too short to do things long”.
After the third year there were problems with my parents and I ran away from home. When my own savings were over, I started to work. I decided to try with the thing i know the best. It was a programming. I was taken after the first interview for the position of Junior C # Developer. The interviewer was amazed, because when he asked me “how good do you know English?” I pulled out the “Hard Times” by Charles Dickens book that was written in English of my bag. Full work schedule and the first salary of 300 hryvna. At that time, for me it was huge money! But it was really hard.
At the 4th year of my studying in the University I was going to abandon it and go to the correspondence course in order to continue making money, because the university did not have the opportunity to attend classes and work at the same time. But I was stopped by the deputy dean, and I became the first student on my faculty who was given a free visit. I worked full time and at the lunch break I ran to the University for couples to take laboratory work. I graduated from the University with a red degree in Computer Systems Analyst in Economics.
When I received my diploma, I had a lot of free time again. I was a very weak girl and in school I had an exemption from physical education because of my health. That is why I decided that it was time to take care of myself and went to the gym. I got to the nightclub for the first time in my life and saw jackets and how they dance and I wanted to know how to dance like them. so I went to the courses of modern dance: Hip Hop, Rnb, Street Jazz, top break, club dance. I went to the gym before work, and after work there was dancing or vice versa. 8 workouts per week has become a standard for me. So I spent another 2 years like that.
But I stopped developing with my dance courses and fell in love with a stripper. The break and the words “you are not from my society” that I was told next did their work, and after a couple of months I tried myself in a completely new direction of Pole Dance. Started with one pole for 20 people at once. I was one of the first to promote this direction, which was still unknown to anyone. Fell in love with this dance direction and the feeling of power and being in the air. A year later I was individually engaged with a man instructor, I wanted a big load, but no one else could give it at that time. I contacted to the WPDF (World Pole Dance Federation) and held the first All-Ukrainian Pole Dance Championship. Many new acquaintances with interesting people, dancers. The competition was conducted entirely on our own money and so it was limited in finance, I was engaged to process video materials from the competition, and therefore I got acquainted with video editing. There were many plans. With my instructor we wanted to open our dance school and recruited students.
At the same competition I tried myself as amateurs and took the second place in my group. My performance was seen by my friends and they wanted to learn to dance too. And they became my first students. So I became an instructor of pole dance. This was another one of my hobbies for the next 4 years. Work, and after it I ran for the training. My groups have always been crowded. Hundreds of pupils.. They told me that with me they feel that they are growing up and I really liked to develop them. Saturday usually took place on 4 non-stop workouts for about 1.5 hours each. So in total 6 hours of continuous workouts. 8 workouts per week was still the norm for me.
Problems in my personal life at some point forced me to quit my job and for half of a year I was just o a Pole Dance instructor. I also discovered the air silk and I passed the courses of the wedding planner in Kiev and organized business as an wedding celebrations organizer. Also I graduated from a modeling agency. Also I tried to open my own school of dance “Epatage”, with website. Also I was an administrator of several other web sites. I tried to be assistant of a film shooter.
Life led me to another dead end and I did not see a way out for myself. I needed answers and then I discovered yoga and went to the Ukrainian Federation of Yoga, where I spent 3 years.
After half of a year, I was still persuaded to return to the IT sphere, where I had already tried in a new position as an Quality Assurance Automation with Java and also continued to instruct. I was enrolled in air silk and continued to practice yoga, and therefore I saw new opportunities for myself and went to the first courses in Moscow to receive a diploma of aerial yoga instructor. I wanted to open a school in Kharkov with this new direction, but my ideas were ahead of their time and the idea failed. I started painting again, tried in painting on fabric, on glass, creating my own jewelry and beads. I passed with aikido classes for several months. I began to study with the new force of French.
Received the first dedication in Reiki and my life began to acquire new colors, I became to be a vegan, and later a raw vegan. Also i gained master of Reiki Idragsil.
My carrier started to go up, business trips to the USA, Mountain View, CA. I had my own team of Quality Assurance engineers and I led lectures.
I also found a spiritual deep master of bretherianism and I took of three levels breath practice, in-lightning, tantra, and a month of meditation practices with Olga Podorovskaya in Moscow. And I thankful her for everything she did for me. I became a spiritual master for myself and my life started to change completely unexpected way, changing my thought, my body, everything and it is still continue to change me each day of life with getting new understandings.
I organized and conducted a New Year’s corporate party for my favorite company, where I combined the roles of planner, presenter, DJ and designer in one person.
Finally the customer offered to work directly in the United States. And I agreed and lived in the US for a year. Again the life opened new doors for me. Alone with myself and my work. I learned to sew, knit, weave, plant my garden, again tried in painting on glass, wood, played on a synthesizer and guitar, bought a pole and went to air acrobatics training, experimented with food, conducted chemical and physical experiments, began to study history, philosophy, films about fiction.
But i missed homeland. My company opened a new branch in Smolensk, Russia, and I decided to switch a little bit closer to my homeland, where I spent another 2 years. I missed physical exertion. But there was no aerial acrobatics, and therefore, with the motto “Nobody but us!” I tried as an instructor in aerial silk. This was another hobby for a year and a half. I also started walking on a hanging rope and a slack-line. I tried on a balance board and discovered running for myself. Also I started to knit with several manual knitting machines.
Also I had a dream to have my own house in the nature far away of people but it was done not like i wish to. I had a house in the forest with wild animals. Bears and wolfs was my neighbors and it was full of animals: it turned into the farm of more then 100 chickens, goats, dogs and cats. So I also know how to pet a goat and mow the grass.
I like animals a lot especially cats so there was a period of time when i had 7 cats in one room apartment. Almost all my life I surrounded by the cats.
Also I tried to be an instructor in modern dance. Began to study medicine with all my passion. I learned how to fix taps and showers. Opened my blog on Advaita philosophy.
And finally, I went back to Ukraine. I started to work as a Senior QA Lead of the Quality Assurance team, but after a few months I decided to return to software developers as a Full Stack .Net Developer and was like that for next 1.5 year. Be sure my carrier resume same broad as the list of my hobbies.
And again I tried in new interesting directions for myself: ballet, I started to study vocals again, gym. Discovered cycling. I tried juggling and riding a mono cycle.
I finished the courses of sewing and started to sew again. Trying with photo shooting.
I gained the status of Master of Reiki and Master of Zarathustrism. For my job I switched back to the Quality Assurance Engineer with medicine project of heart rates.
And still I’m looking for my place in this world and trying paths of development and undertakings. I continue to write poems and create songs, play the guitar and keyboards, dance, sing, live in my magical world, creating new masterpieces that are waiting to be seen, because for the master there should be those who is watching, for the master there should be a muse.
